Currently the H Street Corridor is undergoing a major street renovation to install a streetcar, which will provide service between the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro and the Minnesota Avenue metro. Ultimately this project will make the entire Corridor more accessible while decreasing traffic congestion and parking issues.

Green Roofs on H
D.C. Greenworks received a $150,000 grant from DC to plant vegetation on eleven commercial rooftops along H Street NE, beginning this spring.
Ensuring that our streets are clean and safe is an essential component to making H Street NE a desirable neighborhood for businesses and residents alike. In 2007, HSMS, in partnership with DDOT, Gospel Rescue Ministry/Ready to Work, and countless H Street businesses, began the H Street NE Clean Team. The Clean Team provides regular street cleaning services to H Street from the 300 to the 1500 block. In addition, the Clean and Safe Program has placed H Street Ambassadors along the corridor to assist visitors and provide an added level of safety to the neighborhood.
